Horror M90 crash leaves two people in hospital with motorist arrested after HGV smash

Two people have been rushed to hospital after a horror three vehicle crash on the M90 in Fife.

Emergency services were called to the northbound carriageway, near Dunfermline, at around 10.45am on Saturday.

Two cars and an HGV were involved in the collision at Junction 2 - sparking massive delays as traffic queued back over the Queensferry Crossing.

Police, paramedics and fire crews spent several hours at the scene as they dealt with the incident which has left a man and a woman in hospital.

The extent of their injuries is not currently known.

A 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection.

The road has since re-opened with the stricken vehicles recovered.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to reports of a 3 vehicle crash on the M90 around 10.45am on Saturday 17 July.

"A 59-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man were taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy for treatment.

"A 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

"All roads have now re-opened."
