Horror-lovers can sleep over at Edinburgh Dungeons' torture chamber in a coffin this Halloween

With only ten days to go until Halloween, it's time to start digging out your fake blood and homemade cat ears.

But if you want a truly terrifying experience, then all you'll need is your dressing gown because The Edinburgh Dungeons are hosting a séance sleepover.

If you're looking for a relaxing stay with great spa facilities then you've come to the wrong place, because this will be a horribly fun night - full of frights.

Guests will start off their Halloween experience with a complimentary dinner at the Hard Rock Café, before joining the last Dungeons tour of the day.

This includes the new "The White Lady – Bloody Revenge" ghost show, which tells the story of the vengeful 17th century Scottish murderess, Lady Christian Nimmo.

Then, it’s time for the real fun to start when the séance begins. Guided by a professional medium using a Ouija board, guests will summon spirits lurking in Edinburgh Dungeons.

After trying to converse with spirits, you will be taken to the Torture Chamber to rest in peace in  a custom-built coffin, which comes complete with your own skeleton pyjamas and slippers.

When you wake (if you've slept) there is a complimentary breakfast waiting for you at Motel One Hotel.

How to book?

The experience is exclusively available to book on Booking.com from Friday 25 October here .

The séance sleepover is priced at £66.60 for a one night stay for two people on 31 October.

'Few would brave the depths and darkness'

Stuart Jarman, General Manager at The Edinburgh Dungeon says: "Here at The Edinburgh Dungeon we pride ourselves on dishing out Scary Fun all day long to visitors who love the thrills of our immersive underground journey through history.

"However, few would brave the depths and darkness of the Dungeon after hours where there is no guarantee who, or what, our overnight guests may meet! We wish the lucky pair who book this unique stay the best of luck. Only the brave will survive…”
