A man has been rushed to hospital after being serious injured in a horror crash in the Highlands

Emergency services raced to the scene at the A87 around two miles west of the scenic Glengarry Viewpoint about 4pm on Monday.

A red BMW and silver Volvo SUV had collided leaving a man seriously injured.

He is still in hospital recovering from his injuries.

The road was closed for three hours as officers investigated the scene of the horror crash.

A police statement issued by Highlands and Islands division tonight read: "Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the collision and officers are appealing for anyone who was in that area around the time of the incident to contact them.

"In particular, if anyone has a dash cam, please check the footage as it may have captured images which could assist our enquiries.

"Anyone with information is asked to call Road Policing Officers at Fort William via 101, quoting incident number 2084 of 21 December, 2020."
