Summer Game Fest, one of two annual game showcases hosted by Geoff Keighley and the spiritual successor of E3, just wrapped up. While there were plenty of exciting adventure, racing, and action games on display, the horror genre made an incredibly strong showing throughout the two hour event.
Here’s every horror game revealed at this year’s Summer Game Fest:
Resident Evil: Code Veronica Remake (2027)
Starting off incredibly strong was Capcom’s first ever official reveal – as players knew the game was coming for months – of the remake of 2000’s Resident Evil: Code Veronica. The trailer kicked off Summer Game Fest, showing little beyond an eerie Parisian apartment as an elderly woman escorts Claire Redfield up to search her brother’s apartment.
Some establishing shots of familiar locations, like the prison island Claire must escape from, are shown in passing alongside a final jumpscare of the undead hordes Claire and Chris Redfield will need to survive.
Alien: Isolation 2 (TBA)
The sequel to 2014’s Alien Isolation was confirmed a while back, but updates and snippets of the game have significantly ramped up in recent months, with a short teaser posted in April and a full trailer finally shown at the 2026 Summer Game Fest. There is currently no release window for Alien: Isolation 2, but the consistent updates are promising.
The trailer shows a crashed ship, presumably the very same Amanda Ripley escaped the space station with, on the surface of a planet or moon. A Japanese voiceover says “Your mistake. It was expensive. That’s something the company rarely forgives. This is your last chance. Do you understand?” to which the voice of Amanda responds, “yes, I understand”. Some brief shots show carnage, presumably caused by a Xenomorph, before the creature itself bares its teeth at the camera.
Dead by Daylight 10th Anniversary (June 14, 2026)
This trailer wasn’t a game announcement, or any real news, but another update from Dead by Daylight on their upcoming tenth anniversary celebration. The trailer consists entirely of ominous imagery of a birthday party gone wrong – complete with balloons of every color to taunt fans hoping for a Pennywise reveal – with sites familiar to players like a meat hook and wooden pallet.
The end of the one minute video invites viewers to look forward to more news on June 14 at 8 PM ET, where the true reveal around the anniversary will be made.
End of Abyss (October 1, 2026)
Oppressively atmospheric, End of Abyss is an upcoming top-down horror-shooter game developed by Section 9 that finally revealed its release date of October 1, 2026 at Summer Game Fest. The trailer depicts a figure, who looks like a cross between an astronaut and a deep sea diver, descending into the depths of a facility to investigate it before being chased by various monstrosities like overgrown bugs, walking hands, and giant fish.
Last Harbor (TBA)
Combining open-world survival on the sea with a zombie apocalypse, Last Harbor is a new title by tinyBuild. The trailer depicts players dealing with the normal hassles of life at sea before night falls and they venture on land to battle barnacle-covered zombies.
Players will be able to take to the seas by themselves or with a few friends, though returning to land is a necessary risk to survive a harsh life aboard a small boat.
Saw: Genesis (TBA)
Set (bizarrely) a century before John Kramer began his tenure as a self righteous serial killer in the 2000s, Saw: Genesis is an upcoming title by Blooper Team, Broken Mirror Games, and Ashar Studios. The game takes place just after World War I, where Kramer’s philosophical predecessor sets up deadly games for three victims to play.
Saw: Genesis is an asymmetrical horror game, as three players (the Accused) must escape procedurally generated mazes filled with traps by one player (the Judge). Work together to escape traps, collect keys, and find key items before time runs out all while the Judge works from the shadows to keep the game interesting.
