Horror Dublin stabbing as knife crazed thug slashes teen in violent Balbriggan attack

Gardai are on the hunt for a thug who horrifically slashed a teenager in a shocking and violent north Dublin attack last night.

A number of Gardai rushed to the bloody scene at Castlemills Road in Balbriggan shortly before 11:30pm on Sunday night with the area still being patrolled heavily by Gardai at midday on Monday.

The teenage victim was rushed to Beaumont Hospital where he is recovering from stab wounds.

His injuries are being described as non-life threatening and investigations are ongoing with Gardai appealing for witnesses.

A Garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "Gardaí are investigating an incident that occurred on 20th December, at Castlemills Road, Balbriggan, at 11.25pm.

"A person in his late teens was assaulted. He suffered non life threatening injuries and was taken to Beaumont hospital. Investigations are ongoing."

The stabbing in the area comes after Gardai launched an investigation to track down an attacker who assaulted two girls last week.

Officers in Balbriggan are investigating the 'serious incident' that took place near the Castlemills Link Road at 12pm on Saturday 12 December.

The man is understood to have approached the duo at the entrance to Taylor Hill Estate before seriously assaulting them.

The attacker is understood to be in his early 20s, 5ft 8in in height and was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a grey tracksuit top at the time of the attack.

Gardai are looking for pedestrians or drivers who may have seen the thug who fled the scene on foot.

In particular, they are looking to speak to drivers who own a Red Nissan Qashqai, a Silver Skoda Saloon type car or a White Renault Megane that were in the area at this time, asking them to come forward as they may have vital information.
