A horror discovery has been made in north Dublin after the body of a woman in her 60s was found in a house.
Gardai are probing all circumstances surrounding the "unexplained death" of the woman who was discovered in the Main Street area of Swords near the Old School House yesterday.
The scene was closed off for hours on Monday with the deceased woman's body removed for a post-mortem.
It is understood that the results of that examination will determine the direction of the Garda investigation.
A Garda spokeswoman confirmed the tragic incident to Dublin Live.
She said: Gardaí are investigating all circumstances surrounding the unexplained death of a female aged in her 60s which occurred in Swords, Dublin on the 23 November.
She added: "The body has been removed for post mortem, the results of which will determine the course of the investigation."
