Horror discovery after body of man found at apartment near Custom House Harbour with Dublin area closed off

A horror discovery was made in Dublin City late last night as the body of a man was found in the lobby of an apartment block.

The male victim in his 40s was discovered at around 10pm on Friday night near Custom House Harbour in Dublin's IFSC.

It is understood that it's too soon to determine which path the Garda investigation will take as they continue to investigate all possible circumstances surrounding the shock death.

The area is currently closed off and the man's body has been removed from the scene for a post-mortem.

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "We are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the death of a man, aged in his 40s, at an apartment complex in the IFSC area of Dublin 1 that occurred on May 1 at approximately 10pm.

"The body has been removed from the scene for a post mortem, the results of which will determine the course of the Garda investigation."

He added: "No further information is available at this time."
