Horror crash between Lamborghini and Royal Mail van in Beckton leaves six in hospital

A horror crash in east London involving a Lamborghini supercar and a Royal Mail van has left six people in hospital.

The head-on collision happened in Royal Dock Road, Beckton, at 7.22pm on Tuesday, and left both vehicles crumpled wrecks.

Unconfirmed reports have suggested the pale blue Lamborghini Urus - which retails from around £190,000 - was carrying a group of teenage boys who were travelling to their end-of-school prom when the crash happened.

Photos of the aftermath appeared to show a Royal Mail worker as well as two teenage boys dressed in suits lying injured on the road.

The boys appeared to be being comforted by their friends with one covered in a foil blanket.

Police rushed to the scene around 7.20pm along with around 10 road ambulance vehicles and an air ambulance.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We sent a large number of resources to the scene including six ambulance crews, two paramedics in fast response cars, two incident response officers and members of our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART). We also sent a Command Support Team to the scene and dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.

“We treated six patients at the scene. We took two of the patients to a major trauma centre and the other four to local hospitals.”

A Scotland Yard spokesperson said the injuries were not life threatening. There have been no arrests.
