Horror crash closes Dublin road as driver has lucky escape after car rolled onto roof

These were the scenes in Blackrock following a horror two-car collision saw one driver luckily escape with no injuries after their car rolled onto its roof.

The collision happened on the Rock Road in rush-hour traffic just before 9am this morning.

Pictures show one of the two cars, a black hatchback, on its roof, with shattered glass surrounding it.

The other car, a navy Toyota Yaris, has had its right rear side completely caved in from the impact.

Lanes on the road are still temporarily blocked and traffic will remain backed up throughout the morning.

A DFB tweet read: "We're finishing up at a two car road traffic collision outbound on the Rock Road. Lanes are temporarily blocked but traffic restrictions will be lifted once recovery takes place."

Gardai told Dublin Live: "Gardai and Emergency Services are attending a two vehicle road traffic collision on the Rock Road, Dublin that occurred on the 11th November 2021 at 8.50am.

"No injuries have been reported.

"Investigations are ongoing."
