Horror as terrified Scots passengers 'flee' bus moments before it goes up in flames

Terrified Scots passengers were forced to flee a bus before it went up in flames on a busy road.

Emergency services raced to the A90 just outside Brechin, Angus at around 5pm tonight after reports of the fire onboard the Mega Bus.

Passengers said they were evacuated as firefighters battles the blaze. One person said: "My son has just called me. They were on the mega bus from Glasgow to Aberdeen and have just been evacuated as the bus is on fire.

"They are currently waiting for more info and the fire brigade is present.

"Everyone is safe and off the bus."

There are no reports of any injuries at present. Firefighters remain on the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "The A90 at Brechin is currently closed due to a bus fire.

"Emergency services are on the scene. There are no reports of any injuries. The road is closed in both directions and diversions are in place."

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have been contacted for comment.
