Edinburgh family pictured on giant puddle in a dinghy

An Edinburgh family made the most of the wet weather - taking a trip on a giant puddle in an inflatable dinghy.

After arriving at the slope near Curriehill train station, the parents and their three children set out on the part frozen pond.

The family were seen making the most of the wet weather as they made their way across the water.

The mum was seen standing in the ice cold water as she dragged the makeshift boat back to the car.

Speaking to Edinburgh Live, one eye-witness said:

"I was driving past at around 3.45pm and saw all the commotion so I pulled over, and then saw this orange object being dragged behind the hedge.

"That water will be about -4C. They then just slung the dinghy in the back of the car and drove off home."
