Two men have been hospitalised after a horror three car crash on the A96 in Aberdeenshire.
Emergency services were called to the scene at Inveramsay Bridge near Inverurie at around 8.10pm on Tuesday.
Four fire crews, including a heavy rescue unit, were also sent to help and make the area safe before being stood down shortly before 10pm.
Police were forced to close a large section of the A96 for more than four hours.
A 34-year old man and a 38-year old man, were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
Their conditions are unknown.
A Police Scotland spokesman said:“Officers were called to a report of three vehicle crash on the A96, two miles north of Inverurie, around 8.10pm on Tuesday, 10 November.
“Emergency services attended and two people, a 34-year old man and a 38-year old man, were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by the Scottish Ambulance Service.
“The road was closed for a few hours and reopened around 12.15am on Wednesday, 11 November.
“Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.”
