Horror A9 crash leaves biker with serious injuries airlifted to hospital

A motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a horror crash on the A9 near Perth.

Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses after the incident, in which a silver Vauxhall Insignia collided with the man's motor cycle.

The man was thrown off the bike and sustained serious leg injuries during the crash near to Aberuthven at around 8.35pm on Sunday.

He was airlifted to hospital and is undergoing medical treatment.

The 54-year-old male driver of the Vauxhall has been arrested and charged with a number of offences, and is due to appear at Perth Sheriff Court later today.

As part of their ongoing investigation, officers would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident or what happened immediately beforehand or afterwards.

Anyone with dash cam footage is also asked to come forward - and can do so by contacting police via 101 quoting CR/9624/19.
