Horrifying footage shows the moment a thug used a machete to attack three men in broad daylight on the streets of London.
Dominic Cummins, 21, was sentenced to eight years in prison on Tuesday following the assault in Tower Hamlets in May last year.
In the video he can be seen driving a moped past a car at a junction before he stops, pulls out a machete and runs at the car.
After two people run away from the vehicle, Cummins then goes face to face with another one of the passengers and swings the large blade.
The video stops as Cummins stands over the other individual with his blade held high.
The man on the ground was left suffering with significant blood loss after being slashed on the head, chest and arms, but managed to drive away in the car.
Cummins also fled but he was later arrested by the Metropolitan Police.
The 21-year-old, who lived in Tower Hamlets, was found guilty of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon at Snaresbrook Crown Court last month.
Detective Constable Andrew Bray, of the Met’s Central East CID, said: “This was a vicious attack and the victim is extremely lucky to walk away with his life. Cummins carried out this brutal attack in broad daylight, leaving passers-by fleeing in panic and in fear for their own lives.
“Cummins is a violent individual and I’m grateful to the jury and witnesses for helping us to secure this conviction.”
