Horrified police discover 13-year-old-boy riding his bike along busy motorway

Traffic police were left horrified after discovering a 13-year-old boy riding his bike along a busy motorway.

A North West Motorway Police patrol spotted the boy riding his bike along the M60 near Sale, Trafford, on Sunday evening (June 13).

Shocked officers managed to pick up the child unscathed and return him home.

The patrol is now urging parents to speak to their children about the dangers of motorways in the wake of the terrifying incident.

In a tweet, North West Motorway Police said: "ME patrols have just taken a 13 year old off the M60 near Sale who was riding his bike.

"Will be taken home and the dangers of this explained in front of his parent/guardians.

"If you live near to a stretch of the motorway please speak to your children regarding the dangers of it."

Social media followers were left alarmed, with one commenting: "Oh my word. So pleased you got him home it could have ended up so differently."
