Horrified Calderwood residents have described the terrifying moment they heard gunfire ringing through the air.
This comes after two men were rushed to hospital in a double shooting in Gordon Drive in East Kilbride shortly after 11pm last night.
Forensics have been holed up in a residential flat all morning as police investigations continue.
A cordon remains in place in Gordon Drive with section of Calderwood Road at Alison Lea still blocked off to traffic.
Police say injuries sustained by the two men are not thought to be life threatening.

An elderly resident of Gordon Drive to the News: “At about 11pm I heard this almighty bang - it wasn’t like a car backfiring it was something different. And within about five or 10 minutes there was a lot of shouting and traffic and lights going up and down the street. It gave me a fright.
"I never saw anything else till I opened the curtains this morning.
"I only heard one shot, the noise sounded as if it happened within a confined space like in a close. It was muffled as if it was within a building.
"It’s monstrous. Crazy stuff comes out of that corner of the street.”
One man said: “I heard a couple of loud bangs and looked out the window but couldn’t see anything. It sounded like a gun - two shots fired in very quick succession.
A neighbour added: “We’re used to violent outbursts, it’s like the Bronx here. We had armed police here earlier this year.”
