Horrified Dermot O'Leary pleads Ant and Dec to not air Saturday Night Takeaway prank

Dermot O'Leary was left horrified after hearing that Ant and Dec would be airing his Get Out Me Ear prank on tonight's Saturday Night Takeaway.

The X Factor host, 46, took to Twitter ahead of tonight's final, which is comprised of best bits from the years.

Unfortunately for Dermot, this also included the embarrassing practical joke he was involved in with the duo.

After congratulating them for cheering up the nation in such a "such challenging times", he said: "However, I've got a bone to pick with you!"

Joined by his cat on the sofa, he said: "I hear you are gonna play my Get Me Out Me Ear in Tescos... Please don't!

"It was honestly the most awkward morning in my whole life but I loved it, it was a brilliant, brilliant practical joke mate.

"And thank you. Still now it's probably my niece's favourite thing that I've ever done.

"I'm like, twelve years of X Factor? No, just play that on YouTube!"

He added: "Thanks guys, big love!"

Dermot's practical joke involved him heading to the local supermarket for a bit of shopping - but it wasn't quite as simple as that.

Simple things he was told to do included muttering to himself over tomatoes, pretending to have bananas as a hand and pinching someone's headphones off their head and asking what they were listening to.

However he struggled to truly annoy anyone, with Ant exclaiming: "He can get away murder, Dermot O'Leary. Murder!"
