Horrified dad issues apology after 'disgusting' video of teenage 'son' taking part in assault of 12 year old boy in Ballybrack goes viral

A south Dublin dad has issued an apology after a "horrible disgusting" video which he says is of his son taking part in a sickening assault on a young boy went viral.

The shocking attack on a young boy, who is believed to be just 12-years-old, took place in Ballybrack earlier this week.

The horrific video, which we have seen but decided not to share due to its graphic and disturbing nature, shows two teens rain down blows and kicks while the stricken young lad lies on the ground pleading for mercy.

Other teenagers can be heard laughing in the background before the attackers order the boy to stand up before chasing him and kicking him to the ground again.

The vile teens then lift the boy up and throw him to the ground again before aiming kicks at the back of his head.

Footage of the attack began circulating yesterday on social media with locals outraged by what they saw.

One of the attacker's fathers then took to social media to condemn the "horrible disgusting" actions of his son.

In a since deleted post, he wrote: "The whole family on all parts would like to express my sincerest apologies to anybody affected, especially the youngster involved.

"We are absolutely sickened by what we saw and it is not condoned in any way by any of us.

"It certainly isn't the we we want him [his son] to behave and carry on.

"We will cooperate fully with any force of action."

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live they have not had any reports of the incident.
