Horrified Corrie fans react as Yasmeen is diagnosed with Chlamydia - but there was a satisfying twist

Dr Susan Gaddas delivered some shocking news to Yasmeen Metcalfe on Coronation Street.

Yasmeen has been feeling under the weather so made an appointment with the GP.

But she was reeling to be told that she had tested positive for Chlamydia.

As we all know, Yasmeen has caught the sexually transmitted infection from her cheating husband Geoff who has been hiring escorts.

"You tested positive for Chlamydia," said Dr Gaddas.

"It's an STI, a sexually transmitted infection."

She then prescribed Yasmeen with antibiotics and handed her a number for a GUM (genito-urinary medicine) clinic.

But Yasmeen was worried that the Chlamydia had caused the heart problems that lying Geoff claimed to have.

And it looked like he might have been caught out when she challenged a puzzled-looking Dr Gaddas.

"You know he had a heart problem, you diagnosed it," cried Yasmeen.

"I'm not in a position to discuss another patient's medical history," the doctor told her.

"Oh nooooooo Yasmeen," tweeted one viewer with a crying emoji.

Corrie fans will be watching in terror as Yasmeen slashes Geoff's neck on Coronation Street (Coronation Street/ITV)

"This has just gone too far now," fumed another fan.

"Just when you think Geoff could not stoop any lower," said another.

"I GASPED. I did not see that coming" tweeted another.

"This is horrific to watch," said another upset fan.

Back at home the manipulative bully turned the tables on Yasmeen by saying it must have come from her ex husband Sharif Nazir.

Geoff railed at her for having the infection, cruelly calling her a 'disease ridden old tart.'

And when he sent her away to clean the house he called his escort agency to complain.

But there was a satisfying twist when plucky Yasmeen later told Geoff that the infection couldn't have come from her.

She'd called Sharif's partner Sonia Rahman who told her that she'd been tested as part of a health insurance scheme and had a clean bill of health.

"Yes Yamsmeen!" cheered one viewer.

"Ha! Have that Geoff," said another.

Yasmeen's diagnosis kicks off a horrifying chain of events on the cobbles which sees the bullied wife strike back at her abuser after months of coercive control.

Geoff forces her to wear a dress he bought for one of his escorts and when he tells her where it came from she lashes out with a wine bottle, slashing his neck.
