An Asda shopper was horrified to find a part of a blue rubber glove sealed into a pack of mixed pepper stir-fry she purchased from her local store.
The woman, who has not been named, noticed a blue latex material poking out from inside a £1 vegetable mix she bought at the Asda in Beverly, Yorkshire, on Tuesday.
She only made the discovery when she returned back home with the product.
The furious customer said: "I find this disgusting. I was so shocked when I saw I got home and saw it inside the packaging.
"There is a level of expectancy that you would have thought these products were quality checked - even before stocking them on their shelves."
The "regular" customer , who had bought the mixed pepper stir fry to go with her tea on Tuesday, said she wants to take it up with the food giant after the grim discovery earlier this week.
She added: "I bought this product on Tuesday. I have not opened it as I feel for health and safety reasons it's not acceptable. I have put a complaint in with ASDA head office."
An Asda spokesman said: "We take great pride in the quality of our products and we are working with our supplier to understand how this could have happened.
"We are trying to contact Ms Johnson to apologise for this incident and would like to reassure our customers that we take the utmost care when packaging all of our products.’"
Earlier this week, a customer who visited the Asda store in Kingswood, Yorks, claimed the store had "terrible food hygiene" because workers did not use gloves when handling meat.
The supermarket responded saying that washing hands thoroughly was a better way to stop cross contamination - rather than using gloves.
