A status yellow weather warning has been issued by Met Eireann as Dublin is to be hit by treacherous thunderstorm.
The thunderstorm warning has been issued for all of Leinster, Munster, Cavan, Donegal, and Monaghan.
This warning was issued at 4:43 pm and will remain in place until 9 pm tonight.
The Irish Meteorological Service says there will be localised thunderstorms with the risk of hail and spot flooding.
Road conditions are also expected to be treacherous.
They warned: "Showers and thunderstorms are bubbling up this afternoon.
"Check out our latest thunderstorm warning outlining where the greatest risk for the most intense showers and thunderstorms will be.
"Stay safe and take necessary precautions if a thunderstorm approaches.
"Scattered heavy thundery showers for the rest of the day, with the risk of lightning, hail and spot flooding, especially across Munster and Leinster."
It will be cold with lowest temperatures of one to five degrees.
Monday will also bring further showers with longer spells of rain in places.
But it is expected to be dry and sunny spells during the day too, with highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees.
