Horrific injuries of girl, 4, after crazed pitbull savaged her 'like a ragdoll'

Sickening photos capture the horrific injuries a four-year-old girl suffered after she was mauled by a devil dog .

Little Tillie Vasey, now five, was playing outside in her favourite princess dress with friends when a neighbour's crazed pitbull Caesar savaged her "like a ragdoll".

The youngster was rushed to hospital and has been left with puncture wounds, severe eye injuries and a fractured skull.

Doctors dashed to perform a nine-hour operation on Tillie in July last year and she's still expected to undergo further complex operations.

Speaking today from their home in Preston, Lancashire, grief-stricken mum Leanne, 31, said: "When I first saw Tillie I thought someone had painted her face - then I couldn't move.

"I just froze, I didn't know what to do. We called an ambulance but we couldn't wait, we rushed her there in the car."

Girl, 19, 'mauled to death by pet German Shepherd while having epileptic fit'

Judge Simon Newell this week ordered the 12-year-old Caesar to be destroyed. He also banned its unsympathetic owner, Dawn Holt, from keeping dogs for life.

Holt even tried to blame Tillie for the attack.

She posted on Facebook : "It's her own fault she gone that low.

"My dog didn't bite her, he clawed her to get away...the tree stump caused the fracture."

But Holt was given a three-month jail sentence suspended for 18 months after Judge Newell slammed her comments at Preston’s Sessions House Court.

He said: "It's irresponsible to put anything on, other than: 'I'm sorry', that's all you needed."

"Children have no discriminations, their knowledge and experience is terribly limited. A lot of children who see a dog want to touch the dog, play with the dog.

"They can behave in an improper way to the dog, entirely innocently. When you're leaving them with small children you've got to be there."

Warren Hadfield, 31, who was visiting a friend in the same street, jumped in to fight the dog off.

The hero barber said in a statement: "She was being thrown around like a ragdoll - it looked vicious.

"I couldn't see her face for the blood. She was rushed back home into the arms of her mum and then to hospital."

Anthony Parkinson, defending, said Holt's social media posts followed threats and comments made to her online.

Adam Johnson reunited with daughter, 4, after paedophile released from prison

He added: "This is a lady who is genuinely remorseful. It' an incident that regrettably could not be foreseen."

Leanne, pregnant with her third child, was overwhelmed with the support of family and friends after the attack.

Speaking at the time, she said: "I’ve never experienced anything like these last few days. It’s been horrible.

"She’s being so brave after all she’s been through.

"Her brother Leo, who saw it, is also having nightmares. It’s awful."

The mum has released the harrowing pictures to raise awareness of the risks posed by out-of-control pets, and the importance of responsible dog ownership.
