A shocking video has captured the moment that two gangs of men armed with machetes and baseball bats spilled out onto a street in Leeds during a fight.
The terrifying encounter, which took place at 10.43pm on Wednesday, June 3, shows the two groups attacking one another on Queen's Road, Hyde Park, outside a supermarket.
At least one of the men is seen holding a machete, while others grasped baseball bats as they attack one another.
Traffic came to a standstill during the street brawl as the men chase one another down the road.
One of the men is kicked after he falls to the floor. Another man then runs down the road to attack him before returning to repeatedly punch someone else involved.
Police arrived within minutes to break up the fight and discovered that three of the men involved had suffered injuries. They were taken to hospital for treatment, where they were then arrested.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "At 10:43pm on Wednesday 3 June 2020, police were called to reports of a fight involving a group of men in Queen's Road, Hyde Park.
"There were reports of machetes and baseball bats being involved and armed officers were deployed to the scene along with conventional units.
"Three men, aged 34, 36, and 39, were found to have been assaulted during the incident and received injuries. None had been stabbed.
"They were taken to hospital for treatment and subsequently arrested on suspicion of affray. They are currently in custody.
"Enquiries indicate those involved are known to each other and work is ongoing to trace the other suspects."
The three men arrested by police have since been released under investigation.
