Horrible histories is well… horrible! Find out most of the gory parts of the first world war including: conscription, the DORA rules, and how they amused themselves. Also find out about who killed Arch Duke Franz Ferdinand. If you are ready find out what they ate as substitutes! My favourite part is the games they play to amuse themselves. If you want to find out how they did so read the book!!!
This book is very factual but fun at the same time. I'd recommend it to 8-13 year olds. This is a good school friendly book. Also find out who was in the war and about the home front. You would really like this book if you like other Horrible Histories books such as: Terrible Tudors or Awful Egyptians, or Anthony Horowitz.
