PITTSBURGH _ The Penguins snapped a two-game losing streak with a 4-2 victory over the Nashville Predators on Tuesday at PPG Paints Arena.
Patric Hornqvist scored a pair of goals, Matt Murray stopped 37 of 39 shots, and the Penguins ran their home record this season to 21-3-2.
They've now eight in a row in the first game after the All-Star break.
With Evgeni Malkin out for a second consecutive game because of a lower-body injury, coach Mike Sullivan switched around his lines and reunited Hornqvist with Sidney Crosby and Conor Sheary.
That dropped Bryan Rust to the third line with Carter Rowney _ who made his NHL debut _ and Carl Hagelin.
Hornqvist responded with his first multi-goal game of the season. He now has four goals in his last four games.
Eleven players recorded a point for the Penguins, who improved to 31-13-5 overall, 15-7-2 when they allow the first goal.
Kris Letang returned from a six-game absence due to a lower-body injury and skated a team-high 23:45.
Despite facing the best second period team in hockey _ the Predators came in with a plus-29 goal differential in the middle period _ that's when the Penguins took over.
Trevor Daley gave the Penguins their first lead of the game, 2-1, at 3:10 of the second.
With Yannick Weber at his side and open ice in front, Daley pulled up at the top of the slot and blasted a slapper from 36 feet.
Hornqvist made it 3-1 at 11:07 with a wraparound goal after a nifty bank pass from Crosby along the boards behind Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne.
Hornqvist swatted a bouncing puck out of the air and past Rinne at 16:12 for his 14th of the season, 11 of which have come inside of 15 feet; the two Tuesday came from 7 and 13 feet, respectively.
The teams traded goals in the first period.
Calle Jarnkrok staked the Predators to a 1-0 lead at 14:04 of the first when he backhanded the rebound of a Colin Wilson shot through Matt Murray's legs.
Chris Kunitz answered for the Penguins at 16:19. Ian Cole shot the puck, it bounced off of Jarnkrok's skates, and Kunitz buried a shot from the slot for his sixth of the season.
