The Charlotte Hornets trailed the Magic by 14 points with less than two minutes left to play in the third quarter on Sunday night, but the Hornets stormed back with a 25-4 run and Gordon Hayward made a last-second, game-winning layup give the Hornets a thrilling win on the road.
Orlando’s Terrence Ross tied the game at 104-104 with a clutch 3-pointer with 8.7 seconds left, but the Hornets had plenty of time to set up the final shot of the game. Hayward, who finished with a game-high 39 points, got to the rim and banked in a layup off the glass with 0.7 seconds remaining.
