Behind a franchise record number of 3-pointers, the Blazers ran away from the Hornets in the fourth quarter on Monday to earn a 123-111 win.
Portland only needed 23 points from Damian Lillard due in large part to the team sinking 24 of their 46 3-point attempts, setting the franchise record in the process.
The Hornets led by double digits in the first half and stayed attached to the Blazers through the second quarter and into the second half. However, the Blazers slowly began to pull away as the third quarter came to a close behind Carmelo Anthony’s big night.
Even with a couple of small bursts in the fourth quarter, the Hornets never closed the gap below double digits the rest of the way.
LaMelo Ball finished with 30 points to lead the Hornets while Terry Rozier had 20 and Malik Monk 19. No other Hornet had more than 11 points.
