Hornets fans break out ‘Fire Rhule’ chants during live broadcast

With a seventh straight loss surely on the horizon, Carolina Panthers fans are growing more and more desperate by the day in their attempts to bounce Matt Rhule out of town. And now, they’ve taken their bloodthirsty hunt to a whole new platform.

In their latest effort, Panthers fans apparently moonlighted as Charlotte Hornets fans on Wednesday night and got their message across loud and clear . . .

Maybe the good folks of Charlotte were a tad amped up following the Hornets’ emphatic 140-111 victory over the visiting Detroit Pistons. Or, perhaps, they’re just ready for owner David Tepper to hit the abort button on what’s been a destructive rebuild.

In Rhule’s first pair of seasons heading the franchise, the Panthers have gone a bumpy 10-22. A 3-0 start to the 2021 campaign, which now seems like multiple campaigns ago, has been sullied by losses in 11 of their last 13 contests.

That prolific amount of losing has, in part, been a byproduct of Rhule’s crumbling culture within the organization. From his college football-esque two-quarterback gimmick to the reported souring in the locker room, Carolina is undoubtedly in a worse position than when this new journey began in early 2020.

Hopefully, Rhule doesn’t have plans to sit courtside at the Spectrum Center any time soon.
