'QAnon Shaman' US Capitol rioter on 'hunger strike' in jail 'demands organic food'

A 'horned Shaman' Capitol rioter is reportedly on 'hunger strike' in jail unless he is served organic food.

Jacob Anthony Chansley, who goes by the name Jake Angeli, has not eaten since he turned himself over to the FBI on Saturday, according to his lawyer Gerald Williams.

He told authorities "he came as part of a group effort with other 'patriots' from Arizona, at the request of the President that all 'patriots' should come to Washington DC on January 6.

Now his mother has spoken out about his strict dietary needs, saying: "He gets very sick if he doesn’t eat organic food.

"He needs to eat."

A court said the US Marshal’s office would need to make accommodations for self-styled shaman Mr Angeli, adding that it is imperative that he eat.

David Gonzalez, , US Marshal for Phoenix, said: "For religious or health reasons, if (inmates) need a special diet, we are required to accommodate them."

Before his arrest Chansley gloated about how the crowd infiltrated the Capitol, forcing lawmakers to flee, NBC reported.

"The fact that we had a bunch of traitors in office, hunkered down, put on gas masks and retreat to their underground bunker, I consider that a win," he told NBC News.

Like many extreme Trump supporters he considers anyone who doesn't agree with the President's false claims the election was stolen as "traitors" to their country.

Now Chansley faces several federal charges including violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.

Media reports said Chansley had often been seen at rallies supporting Trump and backed the QAnon conspiracy theory.

At least a dozen other people were facing criminal charges in  connection to the riot, and at least another 40 people faced lesser charges.
