
While the weekend brought sunny springtime weather, Canberra will face a deluge of wet days from Monday.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology, Monday has a 40 per cent chance of rain, with an expected low of 12 and a high of 25 degrees. There are likely to be wind gusts up to 30km/h in the day, which will become light in the evening.
There's a severe weather warning for damaging winds averaging 80km/h with gusts in excess of 120km/h on Monday morning for alpine regions, including Perisher Valley, Charlotte Pass and Thredbo.
Tuesday has an 80 per cent chance of showers. The minimum temperature is 9 and the maximum is 20 degrees. The bureau expects 2 to 5mm of rain.
Wednesday is expected to be slightly more wet, with a 70 per cent chance of rain but an expected 5 to 10mm rainfall. We're heading for a top of 19 and a minimum of 11 degrees.
Do not let the wet weather and cooler temperatures fool you. From today to Wednesday, the UV Index is predicted to reach 8 and 9, or 'very high'. Sun protection is recommended.
The chance of rain keeps climbing towards the end of the week, with a 95 per cent chance on Thursday and a minimum temperature of 11 degrees and a maximum of 20. The bureau expects 10-20mm of rainfall.
It will begin to clear on Friday. We're expected to be met by a top temperature of 17 degrees, and a minimum of 7, with only a 20 per cent chance of rain.
Next weekend is set to be mild and sunny. Saturday is set to have a top of 21, a low of 4 degrees and only a slight chance of rain.
