Hope Ireland's weather could heat up as Met Eireann forecast above average temperatures

The latest monthly forecast from Met Eireann has given Irish people hope that drier conditions and warmer temperatures could be on the way again by next week.

According to the forecast, this week we will see a “good deal of dry weather” but temperatures will stay cooler.

The Irish Meteorological Service said that Ireland will be “feeling cooler than normal” today with many areas staying below 16 degrees. The south will see most of the sun with temperatures peaking in the low twenties.

By the weekend we should see temperatures nationwide climb back up to the low twenties.

Friday will see highest temperatures of 18 to 21 degrees. However, expect a wet day with outbreaks of rain throughout the afternoon, turning heavy at times.

Saturday and Sunday’s temperatures will be similar between 17 and 21 degrees. But the weekend will remain wet, with the risk of isolated thunderstorms on Sunday.

Next week, Met Eireann has suggested that temperatures are signalled to be above average too while rainfall levels will stay around average or slightly lower than average.

Early next week “temperatures will pick up with highs widely in the low twenties.”
