Locals around one of Donald Trump's Scots golf courses have given mixed reactions to the news the President and his wife have contracted coronavirus.
It was revealed this morning the 74-year-old US President and First Lady Melania tested positive for the virus and have started quarantine.
Trump tweeted : "Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!"
The leader of the free world is a divisive figure in the north-east, with his development at the Menie Estate in Aberdeenshire sparking outrage over the use of protected dunes amid support for jobs created.
And the split was evident in the reactions from those living around the area.
Sarah Ramsay wrote: "Something positive finally associated with Trump!"
Andrew Wilkie added: "Hopefully drinks bleach like he recommended"
And Ed Christie sarcastically commented: "It will be the best case of Corona ever but he will have a round of golf at the weekend then be back at work Monday as he never stops working"
But Micaiah Jakeman wrote: "Whether or not this is true, the pure nature of people being happy that he has contracted the virus reflects the lack of humanity in you.
"All so quick to judge and get your tuppence worth in, hope it makes you feel better!"
Jackie Adams wrote: "Some people have real attitudes.
"Whether you like him or not, you shouldn’t wish ill health on anyone!
"Also, he has brought work to our part of the world, as well as saving our rare Balmedie sand dunes for posterity."
It is unclear how the infection will affect the ongoing US presidential race.
