If you want to ring in 2019 outside Thailand, Hong Kong has plenty of choices to celebrate with a bang. The good news is that some of the festivities run until Feb. Here are a few highlights.
Hong Kong Pulse Light Festival 2018
Until Feb 28, 2019
Catch Hong Kong's most spectacular light shows at Central & Western District Promenade and Tamar Park. The highlights include the winter edition of A Symphony of Lights, a Christmas tree at The Statue Square and various countdown celebrations. Also as part of this fest is International Light Art Display, which features local and international light art installations for your selfie spree. The installations are on display along Central Harbourfront and Tamar Park.

Harbour City
Until Jan 1, 2019
The leading mall in Hong Kong goes big for the festive season, featuring 60-ft outdoor Christmas tree and 40-metre-long Christmas bridge where you can write messages on the colourful heart-shaped locks. Be in awe as you walk through giant video kaleidoscope with dynamic Christmas imagery from snowflakes, Christmas trees to stars. Many IG moments here, obvi.

Hong Kong Disneyland
Until Jan 1, 2019
The happiest place on Hong Kong will get jollier during this festive season as it becomes a winter wonderland. Be dazzled by shows with multimedia effects while the streets will be filled with magical glow and music. Take selfies with your favourite characters who will be dressed in their holiday finery. Hong Kong Disneyland opens from 10.30am-8pm (Fri-Sat until 10pm).

Ngong Ping Village
Until Jan 1, 2019
The culturally-themed village brings a white Christmas to you in addition to shopping, dining and entertainment. Besides festive decorations, enjoy "snowfall" four times a day on weekdays and five times on weekends and public holiday. Make snow angel or enjoy ice-skating rink when you meet spending condition at designated shops in Ngong Ping Village. There are also other cultural attractions and three hiking trails nearby the village.

Tong Chong Street Market
Until Feb 17, 2019 (except Dec 23, 30 and Feb 3)
Foodies open wide for a variety of food on offer at the annual market from fresh produce from farmers to creative recipes to the latest in Hong Kong food trends. This year's edition also gathers up-and-coming food stalls and unconventional packaged food. Open daily from 11am-5pm.

AIA Carnival
Until Feb 17, 2019 (except Jan 11)
This revelry is a blend of European carnival with futuristic flairs. The highlights include fun rides, toys, prizes, "Carnival Eats" by celebrity chef Christian Yang, as well as a whole bunch of entertainers. Join them at Central Harbourfront Event Space 9 on Lung Wa Road. The carnival opens daily from 11am-11pm.
