Chaos has broken out across Hong Kong as pro-democracy protesters clash with police.
Tear gas and rubber bullets were fired at those demonstrating, while cars were rammed into crowds amid the furore.
The latest protests surpassed all earlier action and a pro-democracy strike has seen further issues with hundreds of flights cancelled from the area.
The demonstrations started several months ago as demonstrations over an extradition bill, which would have allowed people to be sent to mainland China for trial, and have now evolved into a much broader backlash against the government.
