China's leaders continue to voice support for Hong Kong's leader Carrie Lam, who is resisting demands to shelve the controversial extradition bill that has recently sparked a wave of mass protests.
Lam refused to stand down following the territory's biggest protest since Hong Kong was returned to China in 1997.
