Hong Kong budget carrier HK Express is investigating an aircraft towing incident that caused a head-to-tail collision between its two non-operating aircraft at the Hong Kong International Airport on Wednesday.
Police were called to the airport at Chek Lap Kok soon after 10.30am when the incident took place at the west apron.
“There was a minor collision between two aircraft and no casualties were reported,” a police spokesman said.
Initial investigation showed one of the planes was pushing back at the time of the incident.

An online video footage showed that the front of one aircraft had collided with the rear of the other.
“The airline is currently communicating with its service provider and undertaking a detailed investigation of the incident,” a spokesman for the carrier said.
The Fire Services Department said it did not receive any calls for help.
The Airport Authority said it received a report of the incident at 9.56am.
“While an HK Express aircraft without passengers on board was being towed on the taxiway by ground handling staff of China Aircraft Services Limited, it collided with a parked aircraft, also of the same airline,” its spokesman said.
“Both aircraft were damaged.”
He said the authority was also investigating the incident and would submit a report to the Civil Aviation Department.
The Civil Aviation Department said it would closely monitor the investigation and the follow-up actions taken by the Airport Authority Hong Kong and relevant parties.
