Honey Dijon to play energy-saving set at SWG3 this autumn

Just when you thought things were cooling down, SWG3 throws a most welcome spanner in the works.

The popular west end venue is gearing up to host a major music event this autumn to celebrate the site’s new savvy - and environmentally friendly - energy saving dance floor.

DJ Honey Dijon will be headlining the innovative event - and her energetic set is bound to generate plenty heat.

Chicago crowd-pleaser Honey is a DJ, producer and activist and is known for tunes Not About You and Downtown.

She will help launch the BODYHEAT project during COP26 on Sunday 7th November during the New York Times Climate Hub take over at SWG3.

SWG3's BODYHEAT system means that the venue can capture and transform the enormous amounts of energy generated by people during gigs and clubs.

The system will utilise body heat from clubbers before transporting it to a series of boreholes installed across the venue where it can be stored for days, weeks or even months.

This innovative new method of thermal control will drastically reduce the site’s energy usage, with potential savings of up to 70 tonnes of carbon per year.

Honey Dijon, said: Anything we can do at this moment to help climate change is a positive thing. This new system of channelling energy from the dance floor is something innovative and sustainable.”
