May 23--Two of our favorite restaurants are joining forces for a limited-time-only sandwich.
On Tuesday, Parachute, the Korean-inspired, Michelin-starred restaurant in Avondale, and neighbor Honey Butter Fried Chicken will unveil the Parachute Fire Chicken, a buttery bun stuffed with fried chicken, gochujang, mozzarella, pickled jalapeno and shredded cabbage.
The sandwich ($10) will be available at Honey Butter through Sunday, May 29.
NICK'S TACO CHALLENGE, DAY 22: MAXWELL STREET MARKET
This is the second sandwich in a charity series called the Clucker Collaboration, which asks restaurants around the city to offer a limited-run fried chicken dish with proceeds benefiting a good cause. One dollar of every Parachute Fire Chicken sandwich sold will be donated to Asian Americans Advancing Justice, an organization whose mission is to empower the Asian American community. May is Asian/Pacific American Heritage month.
The series kicked off with La Sirena Clandestina chef John Manion's Cuban Clucker, with fried chicken, Swiss cheese, ham, pickles, malagueta mayonnaise and yellow mustard.
