Honda x Converse All Star Series Celebrates Honda’s 75th Anniversary

Who doesn’t love a good collab between two iconic brands, especially when one of these brands is a motorcycle manufacturer? Indeed, as motorcyclists, we like to live and breathe bikes, and that means repping the two-wheeled lifestyle even when we’re not on our bikes. Manufacturers are well aware of this, and often team up with lifestyle brands to release special edition apparel.

The newest of which comes to us from Honda and Converse, who have just teamed up in celebration of Honda’s 75th anniversary. The two brands have released a cross-border co-branded range of shoes, of course, based on the All Star Chuck Taylor sneakers that have become a mainstay in the world of fashion. The partnership has given birth to a duo of limited-edition sneakers called the All Star Honda RS HI Black and the WP HI Trico.

From a design point of view, the Honda RS HI is inspired by the motorcycle racing suits of yesteryear, flaunting Honda logos embroidered on the sides resembling patches on a racing suit. The Honda wings logo covers the lower portion of the shoe, while Honda logos are added to the inner and outer sides of the shoe. Additional Honda logos can be found on the heels and even the insoles. Last but not least, the overall motif of blue, red, and yellow, is reminiscent of Honda’s colorways, giving the sneakers a retro-racer look.

For those looking for a more street-inspired look, albeit one that retains its retro look, the WP HI Trico is inspired by Honda’s retro jackets and hats. Here, the color scheme is derived from Honda’s classic motorcycles such as the CB750 Four. On the outer side of the sneaker, the Honda logo is displayed in gold atop a blue background, while Honda lettering adorns the upper portion of the shoe. At the back, the Honda logo printed in white features prominently in front of a red background. Meanwhile, on the inner side of the shoe, the Honda logo sits right beneath the Converse All Star emblem.

As of this writing, it appears that the Honda x Converse All Star series will be made available exclusively in Japan starting October 24, 2023. The sneakers are priced at 14,300 yen, or about $96, and come in both men’s and women’s sizes.
