Honda Motor Co. will release Friday its fully remodeled Fit compact car.
Toyota Motor Corp. just released its compact car Yaris on Monday, and the release of another compact car model within a week is expected to launch a marketing battle.
Fit comes in five types including "Basic" with a simple design and "Luxe" featuring luxurious quality. Honda adopted its own hybrid technology to improve fuel economy performance. Cutting-edge safety technologies, such as an automatic braking system, are installed as standard equipment.
Fit was planned to be released last November but its release had to be delayed as it became necessary to confirm the quality of its electronic parking brake.
The model has another version fueled with gas, which starts at 1.55 million yen including tax.
