Honda Sold More Than 1 Million Motorcycles Just In the Philippines Alone Last Year

If you’ve ever been to the Philippines, one thing stands out almost immediately: there’s a Honda on nearly every street. You’ll see them weaving through Manila traffic, parked beside tiny roadside stores, or gliding down narrow provincial roads. Growing up here, it was rare to find a household without one. Maybe it was an old TMX that delivered newspapers at dawn, or a BeAT scooter used for daily errands or food deliveries.

That familiarity runs deeper than nostalgia. Between October 2024 and September 2025, Honda Philippines Inc. (HPI) sold over one million motorcycles in just twelve months. It’s a staggering number, especially when you realize the country registers about three million new motorcycles a year. In simple terms, one out of every three bikes sold in the Philippines comes from Honda.

That’s not just market dominance. That’s mobility on a national scale.

In a country where motorcycles are essential for getting things done, Honda has become part of everyday life. These bikes aren’t weekend toys or collector’s items. They’re tools that keep the country running. The rider on a Click 125 might be delivering lunch. The TMX125 Alpha could be hauling goods for a family business. The XRM125 might be carrying a student through muddy backroads to get to school. Honda’s role in all of this goes far beyond selling motorcycles. It’s helping people work, earn, and live.

According to HPI President Takeshi Kobayashi, this milestone is “a reflection of the strong bond we’ve built with our riders through the years.” You can see that bond on the streets every day. Honda’s top-selling models such as the Click 125, BeAT, XRM 125, and TMX 125 Alpha, are all manufactured in the Philippines, supporting thousands of Filipino workers and suppliers. The ADV 160, meanwhile, adds a touch of adventure to the lineup, appealing to riders who want something more stylish yet still practical.

Together, these models represent the full spectrum of Philippine mobility. They’re reliable, efficient, and easy to own. More importantly, they keep people moving, which in turn keeps the economy moving. Every motorcycle sold sparks a ripple effect. It helps someone earn a living, provides transportation for families, and connects communities that would otherwise be isolated. That’s the butterfly effect of mobility in its purest form.

When people think of Honda globally, what often comes to mind are high-performance icons like the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade or the Africa Twin. They’re incredible machines that define engineering excellence. But the truth is, these headline-grabbing bikes wouldn’t exist without the everyday models that make up Honda’s foundation. Without the millions of scooters and underbones sold across Asia, there would be no Fireblade, no Africa Twin, no R&D pipeline to push the brand forward.

So this one-million-unit milestone in the Philippines isn’t just a local success story. It’s a reminder of what really drives the motorcycle world. It’s not the superbikes tearing down racetracks or the adventure bikes crossing continents. It’s the small, sturdy, dependable machines that carry real people to work, to school, and back home every single day.

As someone who grew up surrounded by the sound of single-cylinder Hondas echoing through the streets, this feels personal. Progress doesn’t always roar. Sometimes, it hums quietly in traffic, under the tropical sun, on two wheels that keep a nation moving.
