Homophobic and racist comments from travelling fans were reported during a Merseyside football match.
Southport FC's 4-0 home win against Farsley Celtic was overshadowed by alleged comments made by travelling fans during the match.
Following the match, the West Yorkshire side issued a statement condemning the "small minority" who they said were behind the comments.

In a statement, Farsley Celtic's chief executive Joshua Greaves said: "It has been brought to the club's attention that there has been an allegation made regarding the actions of a small minority of supporters at Southport yesterday.
"The referee was informed of allegations of homophobic and racist language, and Farsley Celtic fully condemns this.
"The use of such language is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. We are a family club, and this type of behaviour has no place at Farsley, or anywhere in society.
"We are currently investigating the allegations and attempting to identify the individuals involved. We will take the strongest possible action against those found responsible.
"The club is aware that it is only a small number who conduct themselves in this way, and not the majority of our supporters. Those who do conduct themselves in this way are not welcome at our football club."
A spokesperson for Southport FC told the ECHO : "Farsley Celtic FC are dealing with the relevant authorities so it is not appropriate for us to comment at this time on individual incidences, safe to say that those spectators making inappropriate comments were immediately ejected.
"Haig Avenue is not a place for homophobic or racist comments, they will not be tolerated and any such incidences will be investigated and dealt with as severely as possible.
"We would like to take this opportunity to highlight the professionalism of Rhona and her team of stewards at Haig Avenue who assist in this respect."
In October this year, a Southport FC player was racially abused online by a 15-year-old boy following their 3-1 away defeat to York City.
