A homophobe who ranted at nurses and cops and while grabbing his own genitals was warned today that he faced jail.
Kevin Kerr was told by a sheriff that his behaviour at the Forth Valley Royal Hospital and later at Falkirk Police Station was "nasty, offensive and troublesome".
Falkirk Sheriff Court heard today that Kerr, 37, repeatedly touched own penis in the presence of staff at the hospital in Larbert, Stirlingshire, while uttering remarks about his own genitals.
He also acted aggressively a short while later at Falkirk Police Station, uttering homophobic remarks, grabbing his privates and making sexual comments.
The incidents happened in the run-up to Christmas on December 19th last year (2020) and in the early hours of the next day.
Kerr, of Castings Avenue, Falkirk, pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening and abusive manner towards nurses and infirmary security staff, and towards police.
He admitted that the incident at the police station was aggravated by prejudice about sexual orientation.
Sheriff Derek Reekie deferred sentence until August 5th (2021) for a criminal justice social work report and a restriction of liberty order assessment, and warned Kerr he could be facing jail.
He said: "There's no point in me hearing a narrative on the basis that it won't be me who is sentencing, but even without hearing the details this sounds nasty, offensive and troublesome behaviour, and you have an extensive record.
"Reports are being called for simply to investigate the background to this - why on earth you behaved in this sort of way.
"The circumstances will be gone into on the next occasion.
"Your bail will continue but the court will have to consider all options - there are no assurances."
Solicitor John Mulholland, defending, said: "There is a sexual element here, obviously, but it's not significant."
