Established in 2006 as the result of a resident-led steering group, Homes for Haringey is the arms-length management organisation (Almo) responsible for the borough's council housing. The organisation is in charge of 16,000 tenanted and 4,500 leasehold properties, and its responsibilities include repair work, resident involvement, design and engineering, finance and service development. The company employs more than 650 staff and has been recognised as one of the UK's top employers by the CRF Institute, scoring highly for company culture, working conditions and career development. Homes for Haringey also has a silver Investor in People award, putting it in the top 1% of companies involved in the scheme.
