Homes in East Kilbride were evacuated yesterday evening after a gas leak at a nearby pub.
Emergency services were seen at the C'mon Inn bar in Calderwood with the area around it and nearby shops taped off and police also in attendance.
Workers from the gas utility company SGN were also at the scene although there were no reports of any casualties and the area was made safe.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 5.47pm on Wednesday to reports of a gas leak at a commercial property at Alloway Road, East Kilbride.
“Operations Control mobilised one appliance and firefighters made the area safe before handing over to utility partners.
“Four domestic properties were evacuated as a precaution and there were no reported casualties."
A spokesperson for SGN said: "Our engineers were on site carrying out emergency repairs to our gas network. That work is now complete."
