Police have confirmed that an unexploded bomb discovered in a garden in a Scots town has been safely removed from the area.
Several homes in the Victoria Avenue area of Milnathort, near Kinross, had to be evacuated after the alarm was raised on Friday afternoon (March 12) and emergency services raced to the scene.
A large cordon was put in place while a specialist bomb squad was brought in to examine the device and safely remove it overnight.
Officers confirmed that no one was injured in the incident and no damage had been caused to any of the surrounding properties.
Eyewitnesses say several roads leading to the scene were closed off and police were still at the site late into the evening last night, with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service are also in attendance.
