Sofia Ericson is the owner of this early-19th-century Stockholm apartment. She found the single metal chair – which picks out a muted green theme – from a vintage store near the apartment. The closest match we found is from Amazon (Palm Springs folding chairs, £29.99 for two. Photograph: Pia Ulin
There is little excess adornment in this quiet dining corner – lighting consists of three suspended bulbs. Posters featuring quotes from Andy Warhol, from a major retrospective of the artist in 1968 at Stockholm’s Moderna Museet, break up the bare walls, and vases of greenery and brown apothecary-style bottles, found in vintage stores, soften the space. The black chair is similar to the Eames’ classic Eiffel chair (£325, from The Conran Shop). For the stacking stools, try Alvar Aalto’s design from Aram (£149.50 each), or Ikea’s four-legged Frosta, which is just £8.99. Heal’s Newgate Putney wall clock (£90) is similar to the one here. These are open plan – separated only by a single wall of shelves. These are a lesson in stylish knick-knacks: glass bottles (try Re), curios, magazines and box files – try Muji or Paperchase. The armchairs are vintage, “probably 1950s Danish or Swedish”, says Ericson. For similar, try vintage Scandinavian specialists Sigmar or Elliott & Tate. Photograph: Pia Ulin
Ericson bought this industrial-style cabinet at auction in Berlin. For similar, try Retrouvius; Pedlars has a metal glass-fronted cabinet (£750). The letter E was from a vintage store – Graham & Green has similar. Photograph: Pia Ulin
French windows open on to a small urban balcony with window boxes. For similar bedlinen, try Luca Charcoal, now reduced at Feather & Black. The black chair is similar to Eames’ Eiffel chair, as seen in the dining area. Photograph: Pia Ulin
