Homes across Merseyside that can be snapped up for as little as 15k

Empty homes across Merseyside are up for grabs at auction for as little as £15,000.

The properties require some renovation but could be transformed into the perfect homes for families or first time buyers.

On offer are a number of boarded up houses, terraced properties and semi-detached homes, including one with gardens, a driveway and a garage.

The first rock-bottom property is a two bedroom, mid-terraced house at 11 Shakespeare Street in Bootle.

It is up for auction with Bond Wolfe Auctions’ on Wednesday, February 17.

The accommodation includes a hall, two reception rooms and kitchen downstairs, with a landing, two bedrooms, bathroom with no fittings and toilet upstairs, and a rear yard outside.

The guide price for the property will begin at a staggeringly low £15,000

It’s not the only potential bargain at the auction, with another two-bedroom, mid-terraced house with a similar lay-out at 20 Orwell Road in Kirkdale also having a guide price of £15,000+.

More two-bedroom, mid-terraced houses in the auction are at 51 Sandhead Street, near Edge Hill railway station, and at numbers 35 and 70 Parkside Road in Birkenhead, and all three come with guide prices of £20,000+.

Gurpeet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe Auctions, said: “Properties that come with such low guide prices often reflect the need for refurbishment, but there’s no reason why owners with vision, skills or money to invest shouldn’t turn these into decent little starter homes.”

Keen buyers who want something a little larger might bid for the three-bedroomed, semi-detached house at 1 Moorhey Road in the town of Maghull, near Aintree, which has a guide price of £54,000 to £59,000.

This property has a driveway, garage, gardens, central heating and double glazing, although it is in need of some modernisation.

Head north up the coast to Southport and there’s another three-bedroomed, semi-detached house with gardens at 42 Kensington Road, with a guide price of £54,000 to £59,000 again reflecting the need for refurbishment.

Mr Bassi added: “We have a growing number of properties across Merseyside and the surrounding areas that we expect will be popular either with first-time buyers with an eye for handy work or landlords looking to extend their property portfolio.”
