A woman living in the west of Ireland has warned other homeowners in Ireland after she was left feeling very uneasy following a male caller to her home.
She took to social media and said that a man had knocked on her door in recent days purporting to be representing a charity, and what he said “really bothered” her, leaving her feeling very uneasy.
The woman went on to explain that he had shown her an ID but said he was standing far too close to her and even commented on a painting inside her door.

She said he then asked if he could come inside and speak to her about the charity he was representing - but she refused.
Her post read: "A man called to my door and showed his ID representing a charity. He stood very close to me and commented on a painting inside the door which really bothered me.
“He asked could he come in to speak to me. I said no. Would anyone let a stranger in nowadays?"
In a follow-up, the woman also explained that the man also acted "too familiar" as well as getting too close, something that made her feel even more uneasy about the cold call.
She also explained that other cold-callers never asked to come in. In fact, she told of a recent interaction with a separate cold-caller who was more than happy to get their business done outside.
Many agreed with the post and praised the woman for trusting her gut, urging others to trust their instincts in these situations.
