Homeowner threatened with knives by burglars who ‘threw substance’ over victim

A homeowner was threatened with a knife and covered in an “unknown substance” after four attempted burglars burst into their home.

Firefighters, paramedics and police responded to reports of an aggravated burglary at a terraced mock-Tudor house in Highfield Avenue, Brent Cross at roughly 11.15pm on Wednesday.

The victim was taken to hospital after the violent home invasion but has since been discharged.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “It was reported that 4 men had forced entry into the property before threatening the resident with a knife.

“It was alleged that an unknown substance was thrown towards the victim.”

“It is currently unknown whether any items were taken.”

No arrests have been made.
